The Young Europeans’ Seminar (YES) has always been a gathering for European YFU students aged 15 to 18 at the end of their intra-European exchange year. This year, besides 500 European students, the YES 2013 will follow the newly established tradition and will host a group of non-European students who spent their exchange year in Europe as well. From 28 June to 2 July, 2013 these students from different religious, political, social and cultural backgrounds were given an opportunity to develop their identity as young Europeans.
The YES 2013 was organized by more than 100 volunteers of Youth For Understanding (YFU). The seminar, led by YFU Czech Republic, YFU Latvia, YFU Germany and EEE-YFU (European Educational Exchanges – Youth For Understanding), provided learning opportunities not only for students, but also for the volunteers involved in the organizing process. The YES 2013 offeeds these young adults an opportunity to develop themselves as youth leaders, counselors and organizers, working in a high-standardized, multicultural environment.
YES 2013 gave to participants a unique opportunity to explore the topic of transitions more thoroughly, accordingly: historical transition, social transition and personal transition.
