Regional Coordinators and School Ambassadors that are involved in the project CGrow gathered in Brussels for a training course, from 24 to 30 May 2017.
The project CGrow (“Coloured Glasses Expanding Intercultural Education”) aims to develop Coloured Glasses workshops in 7 new regions across Europe (in Sweden, Estonia, Bulgaria, Austria, Italy, France, and Germany). It is a two-year project, funded through the Erasmus+ programme.
This training, organised by our partner YEU International, intended to prepare School Ambassadors and Regional Coordinators to be operational and effective in their respective roles. Regional Coordinators are in charge of building the volunteers’ networks in their regions and ensuring they are trained to deliver Coloured Glasses Workshops, while building visibility for Coloured Glasses in the communities. School Ambassadors are young students who take care of networking with schools and peer-to-peer support.
Via this training course, both Regional Coordinators and School Ambassadors became more familiar with the project and its key steps, got to know each other, and defined ways of cooperation, nationally and internationally. Participants learned about effective communication in youth work, explored the topic of volunteer management, made plans for development of Coloured Glasses in their regions, and tried out the Coloured Glasses manual. The training was also the place where to develop connections and synergies for future work together, across borders. Many questions came up and offer opportunity for clarification, discussion, and decision-making.
Both Regional Coordinators and School Ambassadors are now ready to kick-off with the several activities that are foreseen in their regions: recruitment of volunteers, regional training courses, workshops in schools and youth clubs, networking events, and much more.
Coloured Glasses is ready to expand!
