The Core Team, in charge of steering the ship towards the Young Europeans’ Seminar (YES) 2018, met in Berlin at the end of October and officially started the preparations of the biggest YFU event! The Core Team is composed of volunteers from France, Germany, Serbia, and Turkey: these are the YFU organisations in charge of content preparations for the YES 2018!
The YES 2018 will take place in Werbellinsee (Germany) from 25 to 29 June 2018.
“Time for peace. Act now!” is the topic of the YES 2018. This year, it is the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I and therefore, we would like to explore and discuss the role that young people play in shaping peaceful societies, within and outside the European borders. The YES 2018 wants to give participants the chance to question their views, and develop critical thinking around the meaning and impact of conflicts and peace in our daily lives.
Plenaries, workshops and interactive activities are designed by the YES team to help participants explore topics relating to what it means to be an active and responsible citizen of the world. Participants will also have time to meet new people and hang out with old friends. A fun variety of Free Time Activities, the YES Lounge, and the YES Party on the last night will make sure everyone has enough fun.
In addition to this, at the YES participants meet many other students from all around Europe and beyond who just ended their YFU exchange, as well as motivated YFU volunteers. It is the ideal way to end the exchange year, cope with the transition, and prepare for the return home.
As usual, we expect to welcome around 500 students and 100 volunteers at the next YES. Stay tuned and like our YES Facebook Page!
