Guest Speakers

Przemysław Piotr Damski is Chair of International Relations and Lecturer at Vistula University. He is an Historian, Doctor of Philosophy, specialist in 19th and 20th century international relations, especially foreign policy of Great Britain, the United States and Germany between 1871 and 1918. He is also interested in the idea of colonialism and imperialism. He will speak about how emotions and prejudices of individuals can influence International Relations, from an historical point of view. In a situation of rise of nationalism and insecurity it is a good occasion to face such topic.


Joëlle Verriest holds a Master in Psychology and a Master in International Relations and European Studies. She has extensive experience in the non-profit sector, in the field of digital divide and employment. She is currently in charge of Digital storytelling and communication in the association Maks vzw, in the framework of the project “BRIGHTS – Boosting Global Citizenship Education using Digital Storytelling”. The association Maks vzw works with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in Brussels.



Marzena Gawenda is the Training Director of EEE-YFU. At Voluntaria, she will bring her knowledge of training methodologies, art therapy techniques, and global citizenship education approaches. She has extensive experience in Forum Theatre, a powerful tool to address today’s global challenges. Marzena’s previous experiences as a trainer, a youth worker, and a traveler have made her a true example of global citizen!
